Why I’m Excited About Experience

I grew up in China, where community and connection were a big part of life. When I moved to the U.S., I noticed that many international students struggled to build those same kinds of connections. Language, culture, and shyness often made it hard to fit in.

Most friendships stayed at the surface—small talk, quick hellos—but rarely the deep, genuine bonds that make you feel truly at home.

That’s why Experience stood out to me. It’s more than just events—it’s about breaking down those barriers, creating spaces where people can relax, meet others, and really connect. It turns “I’ve seen you around” into “I’m glad we met.”
