From Disconnected to Belonging — and Back Again

When I first arrived in the U.S., I found it hard to connect with people. Not because I didn’t want to — but because I didn’t know where to begin. Language barriers, cultural gaps, unfamiliar tools… everything made it harder to feel at home. I wanted to make friends, join events, explore the culture — but it all felt out of reach.

So, during my summer vacation, I went back to China and started talking to my foreign friends here. I asked them:

“How did you start your journey in China?”

"I wanted to make friends, join events, explore the culture — but it all felt out of reach."
"I wanted to make friends, join events, explore the culture — but it all felt out of reach."

Their answers were familiar:

“I rely on random WeChat groups.”

“Everything’s in Chinese, it’s hard to know what’s happening.”

“I want to meet people, but don’t know where to start.”

It turns out we shared the same pain. That’s why I started building Experience — a multilingual, event-sharing and community platform designed for expats in China. A space where you can discover real, high-quality, culturally immersive activities. Where you can meet people, find your community, and land more softly in a new country. And also for those just traveling to China? We hope to offer something beyond the usual sightseeing — something that lets you taste, feel, and remember the real rhythm of life here.

🌱 We're just getting started — and we'd love your support, ideas, or simply your feedback.
